Artist of Abstract Impressionistic Landscapes and Still Life. My paintings challenge and retain the viewer’s attention, generating an emotional response that they have seen in the world, that they want in their environment.

More about me
Understanding my work and personal information
-
Techniques
Some of my current works are using techniques of Impasto (enough oil that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible) and Sgraffito (overlying layer of oil paint is etched off to reveal another layer beneath, usually of a contrasting color). Other work is with brushes and various tools.
-
My goal in painting is to challenge and retain the viewer’s attention and generate an emotional response in time. Capturing this moment in nature is challenging when I also use Impasto and Sgraffito technique’s.
-
I was determined to set a goal to learn to paint with oils. I’m achieving that goal, that never ends. I want to show my work to as many people as possible and explain what I do.
One main goal is to show in galleries in my area as well in other cities and states. Please contact me to start that process.

Arthur Schumaker is an Abstract Impressionistic, Landscapes, Still Life Artist.
I took a few years off from society to discover a different view of what I was looking at. So, I allowed myself to change; learn the awareness and growth of mental consciousness of how I viewed the world. Doing so, changed the way I painted and will continue. What you see is the result of my inner change and expression. My thought “Every movement while creating art is from MY HIGHER SELF.”
Born in 1949, Educated in Graphic Design, Color Theory, Design Concepts, GIS Design, Oils.
Has exhibited in numerous galleries in Colorado. He lives and works in Fort Collins CO

CURRENT PROJECTS
Working on a still life study for 30"x 30" . Working on when to add the oil colors to the canvas panel. Some colors are added first so they will be vibrant when other colors are added over them. Oils are added over oils for added affects, wet on wet look.
